Committee Meeting

Attendees: Doug Lohmeier, John Ranz, Stiney Vonderhaar, Chief Korte, Chief Cruse, Dave Nichols
I. Police
a. Chief Korte asked for permission to donate recovered unclaimed bicycles to the Kiwanis so they could distribute for Christmas, committee approved.
b. Chief Korte requested permission to purchase new cruiser video equipment; this would be purchased with funds from the Alcohol Enforcement trust fund, committee approved.
II. Fire
a. Chief Curse requested approval for additional 15 hours to cover FD Administrative Assistant through the end of the year, committee approved.
b. Chief Cruse requested/informed committee of approval for tuition reimbursement of $2250 for FF Asbach, Mayor signed approval prior to taking the course
c. Chief Cruse requested approval for tentative sale of the old Tower 40 to Stonelick Township for $30,000; he is awaiting confirmation from Stonelick Township.
d. Hiring update- 29 applicants successfully passed the written & agility test for the open position. The department committee is reviewing those applicants to narrow it down for the hiring committee.
III. Recreation
a. Mr. Nichols advised the committee of the annual part-time ordinance that will be on the agenda for December meeting as well as ordinances to hire management companies for the pool & fitness center.
